ENGEL Machinery North America has a job opportunity for a Transportation Coordinator. POSITION INFORMATION

Job Summary:

The Transportation Coordinator coordinates the importing, transporting and rigging of Engel products including machines, robots and automation. Obtains quotes from vendors and works with sales and customers to successfully deliver ENGEL products in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the timely delivery of machines, robots and automation.
  • Maintains delivery schedules and tracks deliveries to ensure customer expectations are met.
    • Updates and provides tracking information to customers, both internal and external.
    • Monitors and reports issues such as damages, accidents and safety.
    • Handles customer complaints and assists the Customer Service Division in reconciling damages to equipment and related delivery issues.
  • Acts as expert in the understanding and application of INCOTERMS.

  • Negotiate contracts with outside transportation companies, including ENGEL manufacturing locations.
    • Analyzes delivery and rigging costs and recommends more cost effective methods of transportation.
    • Maintains vendor relationships.
    • Works closely with the ENGEL production plants to provide fair transportation revenue splits.
  • Responsible for customs compliance.
    • Maintains internal documentation, processes, procedures to ensure ENGEL is compliant with all US and Canadian customs requirements.
    • Responsibility for the relationship and operating procedures with customs brokers to ensure ENGEL is compliant with all US and Canadian customs requirements.

  • Prepares reports.
    • Maintains delivery schedules, tracks deliveries to ensure customer expectations are met. Reports on such.
    • Maintains responsibility for the profitability of the transportation/rigging cost center

  • Arranges transport of equipment and material for trade shows such as MD&M, NPE, etc.

  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Training Requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Business related degree is a plus

Experience:

  • An understanding and/or experience in B2B transactions, including purchasing, quoting, shipping, rigging, customs documentation, dispatching, purchasing and negotiating experience. International transportation experience would be a plus
  • Customer service and support experience

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Brokers License is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Office, CRM, SAP, US Customs ACE portal
  • Good communication skills to exchange/supply information are necessary as this role interacts with other employees within Engel as well as externally with suppliers and customers.
  • INCOTERMS expertise

Physical Requirements:

Sitting at a computer and keyboarding is required for more than 2 hours at a time on a continuous basis. Ability to speak on the phone on a continuous basis is required. Attends conferences, between 1 and 2 hours in length, on an occasional basis.
